In 2050 Nigeria population will be 440.355.000 whilst Cameroon population will only reach 48.598.000.
Considering that Nigeria and Cameroon both share their largest border of about 1,975 km. One doesn't have to be a geostrategist to anticipate that Cameroon will be the direct victim from Nigeria population density.
Let's consider, the cost of policing, controlling borders, diseases and terrorism. What are the key steps Cameroon government officials should make today to face the collateral damages of the increasing population density in Nigeria in the next 35 years. That's the question.
How can 450 million people live in a country Nigeria of 1,000,000 Km2 which is ten times smaller than the USA and only twice bigger than Cameroon.
Scary to think about this now. The future of Cameroon lies in the decision Cameroonian leaders make today otherwise it will result to war, not because of the will of the Nigerian government but the Nigeria population flooding across our borders.
It is estimated that 3 million Nigerian lives in Cameroon. By 2050 will that number quadruple ?
In 2013, Nigeria was found to be the biggest Trade partner of Cameroon ahead of France with Trade exceeding 50% of Cameroon Total Imports and Exports.
Looking at those basics facts, it doesn't take one to be a genius to realise that there is so much at stake. Our juvenile discussions on Biya a departing commander, his tribe or those of his opponents just show how selfish and immature many of us considering ourselves enlightened because living abroad is amusing.
The main question remains: What should we do today to ensure the prosperity of our nations by 2050 ?
Balance was here...
